Nature On Film, A Photojournal by Bob Epperly |
High above Bishop, CA is a windswept forest of bristlecone pine trees, the oldest single species on the earth. It is amazing that these trees could live at all in the dry, cold, alkaline soil. However, one has lived around 5,000 years, and the forest of living and dead trees spans 10,000 years of history, facts that are almost unbelievable.
